Genetic Diversity is the Hedge between us and global famine and that makes it so important to keep as much of different seeds of one sort as possible. You never know how things change and what you might need tomorrow. Like in Europe this summer the climate Change leaded to month of dryness which makes the normal plants suffer. In Arizona the Hopi use corn seeds in the desert which can survive quite good without a drip of water for quite a while. What loss it would be not to use these corns anymore. We could probably need them in europe if the dryness turns out to become normal in our summers. Even Monsanto and Bayer could not help out with their artificial breeded corn. Hybrid Corn was the Atombomb of agriculture, Vandana Shiva claimed. And we don’t know what comes out of the weird DNA manipulation big companies drop on us…
“Our seed – We reap what we sow” is an appeal to all of us: Protects the original seed variety, otherwise the rich offer of our food will soon be only a nice memory! Imaginative and with creative images, the film turns its viewers into mature eaters who can not be fobbed off with the same supermarket goods. A life-changing documentary by Taggart Siegel and Jon Betz, as colorful as the natural variety of our seeds. With world-renowned environmental activists such as Vandana Shiva, Jane Goodall, Raj Patel and Percy Schmeiser.
