The danish director Nicolas Winding Refn puts images in scene which are so aesthetically that you get a feeling, as if beeing served in a three star restaurant-temple with a classic dinner. Hardly anyone has mastered the art of cinematic aesthetics as skilled as the so-called Bad Boy of the Cannes-cinema. With THE NEON DEMON he installed a surprising thriller which he managed to alternate ones motion between beauty and nausea. With humor and freaky coolness he tells of the incredible depths of the model business and so captivates the audience even to the brutality of individual scenes.

In the lead role, the 18-year-old Elle Fanning thrilled with her intense game – naive and mature at the same time, just beautiful, yet disturbing. As the furious female trio can be seen: the Australian supermodel Abbey Lee Jena Malone ( “The Hunger Games”). Also starring Keanu Reeves play ( “John Wick”), Desmond Harrington ( “Dexter”), Alessandro Nivola ( “American Hustle”) and Christina Hendricks ( “Drive”). Cliff Martinez underscored the cool scenery with its electric sounds which already faszinierten- in Refn’s previous films a fitting soundtrack.
