He is thoroughly, firmly rooted in the soil of his ancestors, all farmers. Rudolf H. Buehler manages the Sonnenhof in the 14th generation. Since 1378 his family is located here, in Wolpertshausen, a village near Stuttgart, in Swabian Hall. They are Hohenlohe and no Swabia, free and independent farmers. Freedom and independency is very important to Rudolf Buehler. He likes to show it with wearing always a hat: “In the past, the peasants were serfs, only allowed to wear cappys. The hat was reserved for their Masters. The hat still stands for freedom and independency. I always wear a hat. It’s important to me!”

The spices to cook the meat more delightful refer the Hohenlohe from overseas. Buehler founded various projects with small farmers and indigenous people in very different parts of the world: Jungle Pepper from Kerala, paprika from Serbia and cloves from Zanzibar. Not only the producer group also local producers benefit with fair income and promising jobs. Mustards such as coriander come back from Hohenlohe.
